The Contract 803 contractor will build an extension of the culvert and NJ Turnpike lanes over Cranbury Brook during the Widening Program. 9/14/12: Clearing and earthwork for the southbound outer roadway work can be now seen at Cranbury Brook in Contract 803. 8/20/10: A preconstruction view of Cranbury-Half Acre Road, the State Trooper barracks, the maintenance u-turn bridge and Service Area 7S. The outer roadway north and south bound will be built as well as ramps for the Service Area. 3/7/12: In this view, the new bridge and road have been opened to traffic and the original Cranbury-Half Acre Road bridge over the NJ Turnpike is being demolished. 6/05/12: A view of the NJ Turnpike northbound outer roadway (right side) looking toward the State Police U-Turn bridge from the Cranbury-Half Acre Road bridge. 8/01/12: The contractor has cleared the work area and is now grading for the new northbound outer roadway near Service Area 7S. 9/14/2012: An aerial view of Cranbury-Half Acre Road's new bridge near NJT milepost 71.25 built in Contract T869.120.802. Many bridges in the Widening Program had to be rebuilt or replaced to accommodate the new widened NJ Turnpike. The 803 contractor will build the new northbound outer roadway under this new structure. 7/05/13: Less than a year later, the contractor has made headway on the outer roadway and constructed service area access ramps under Cranbury-Half Acre Road. 7/05/13: Another view of the service area access ramps constructed in Contract 803. 1/17/14: A progress view of Cranbury-Half Acre Road, State Police barracks and Service Area 7S. 9/23/11: The State Police U-Turn (SPUT) bridge must be rebuilt to accommodate the widening of the NJ Turnpike and the new service area ramps. 9/14/12: A view of the State Police barracks and Service Area 7S; Contract 802 also built the new SPUT bridge for the State Police. In Contract 803, the contractor will build the new northbound outer roadway under this structure. 1/18/13: Construction on a ramp that will pass under Prospect Plains Road has started; the work on the ramp’s piers can be seen in the upper right part of this photograph. 7/5/13: Progress on the new ramp being built under Prospect Plains Road can be seen. 10/22/13: Progress shot of Prospect Plains Road and the NJ Turnpike. 8/18/14: Prospect Plains before the opening of all the new and reconstructed lanes. 3/7/12: A view of Cranbury-South River Road where the NJ Turnpike crosses over it. This bridge is one of the few NJ Turnpike bridges crossing over a local roadway that did not have to be expanded as it was originally built wide enough to accommodate the new lanes being built during the Widening Program. The 802 contractor installed conduit at this location, and in Contracts 801 and 803 the contractors will pave the new roadways north and south. 9/14/12: In Contract 803, the contract will build the new northbound outer roadway and also construct a sound wall near Forsgate Drive/Route 32, Monroe Township (near approximately NJT milepost 73.50). 1/18/13: A view of Forsgate Drive (County Road 32) showing the 803 contractor’s widening operations on the northbound NJ Turnpike. All new widened and reconstructed lanes opened to traffic in October 2014. September 2012: A preconstruction view of Interchange 8A. 9/14/12: A post-construction view of the new and original ramps for Interchange 8A. Next, the contractor will be building new outer roadway lanes on the north and south bound sides, eliminating the merge and diverge in this area. 7/18/13: Earthwork on the new northbound lanes can be seen in this photograph. 8/18/14: Construction on the new and reconstruction lanes is nearly complete. 5/5/14: A view of the Service Area 8N, East Brunswick, NJ.
